Family and friends,
I hope you all had a great week! Ours was pretty awesome, in that we were able to find 4 new investigators, as well as set another investigator with a baptismal date. It's really exciting to see especially since Logandale is pretty much the Utah of Nevada. There are so many Mormons here! But we're working hard and having fun!
The investigator that we set with a date is a 19 year-old high school student who I would say hangs out with the wrong crowd at school. He smokes and drinks, but really doesn't seem too content with his life. He really wants to find the truth, but isn't so sure where to look.
That's exactly the point we came in to the picture. His step-dad is a less-active, and we went to their house to visit him, but ended up talking with the kid instead. Turns out, he really wants to know what's true and what he should do. When we taught the first lesson and extended the baptismal invitation, he seemed really happy and excited! We have him set for some time next month, so we have a ways to go but he seems committed enough to try to be ready. That's all the Lord asks!
With that it really is nice to be teaching again during the week. It was a little slow here for a while, but it really has picked up the more that we've relied on Heavenly Father. One of my favorite scriptures in the New Testament is Luke 9:62.
It says, "And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." As long as we're working, we're doing the Lord's work!
Have a great week! And let me know about any missionary experiences you've had!
